Is Turmeric Really Good For You?

The short answer is yes!

Turmeric has had a large emergence into health pop culture recently! I had seen, and tasted Turmeric all my life, yet never thought to add it to a smoothy or latte. Who knew a spice used in my mothers home cooked meals would had such a rich history of health benefits!?


Origins of Turmeric

Turmeric is a bright yellow, aromatic ,and flavourful herb which has been around for more than 40 Centuries. The turmeric plant was first processed for medicine and food in India.


The first acknowledgments of turmeric known to man date back to 500BC. The plant as well as the root are both used for medicinal and flavour purposes!


Benefits of Turmeric


☆Fights Depression☆

There have been studies that link inflammation and depression. The medical compounds within Turmeric can help with inflammation, which in turn lessens depression.


☆Ease Joint Pain☆

Curcumin was tested in adults in a month long lab. Results concluded that 94% of those suffering from arthritis in the knees saw at least a 50% improvement of symptoms. Turmeric was found to be highly successful, but it isn't proven for the longterm!


☆Regulates PMS

Physical symptoms of PMS are very strongly connected to pain and inflammation pathways. Studies have proven that taking about 200 milligrams of turmeric daily, could be an effectively reduce symptoms of PMS.


☆ Cures Headaches

Many people swear by it! Only recently, was there a clinical test which confirmed that turmeric has positive effect of headaches. It was discovered that it can reduce frequency, duration, and severity of headaches and migraines.


☆Helps with symptoms of Type 2 Diabetes ☆

Curcumin can stimulate insulin levels to rise in the body, which helps keep the low-blodd sugar levels characteristic of type 2 diabetes in order! The inflammatory properties in Curcumin also help with the stimulation of insulin to prevent more inflammation. I really helps with he whole cycle!

Turmeric has been proven to stops and/or slow the growth of tumors! Research suggests that curcumin has the ability to prevent cancer, and slow its spread spread. I may also make chemotherapy more effective while protecting healthy cells from damage.


My conclusion from research is that turmerics most powerful and useful medical property is fighting inflammation.

Dangers of Turmeric

Although it is a very effective natural medicine, Turmeric may not be the best option for everyone!. If you have any medical conditions or concerns, be sure to consult a medical health professional before using as a supplement!
